TS5C Sponsored Athlete
The flagship fund has already benefited over 130 young athletes from Somerset in a variety of sports. TS5C sponsored athletes have already achieved significant results at both County and National level, and have competed for Team GB in international competitions.

Luke Mason 16' from Weston College took part in the British Youth Fencing Championships in Sheffield this weekend.

He had an ok start in his pool winning 3 out of 5 bouts coming 24th seed.

The first D.E was a tough start, but Luke got a few points ahead and managed to maintain his lead to get to the 2nd round. He was up against the 3rd seed but this didn’t prove to difficult and he won 15 8. Next up was the semi where he faced a strong fast left hander. This was a fast, but tactical, match where lots of doubles were scored. It got to 14 all, so it could have gone either way, unfortunately not for Luke though.

Still, he fenced very well to rightfully earn a bronze medal.
