Last weekend saw the start of the new handball season and not only a step up to under 19s and men's handball, but a new team to get used to as I am now playing for Stroud.
I was looking forward to the increased phyisical and stamina demands as the games are 60 minutes as opposed to 40 minutes at under 16 level.
We travelled to Bournemouth to play against teams from Devon and Somerset and I am delighted that pre season training and a tournament in Denmark resulted in two solid wins putting Stroud at the top of the table.
The next couple of months will entail league and cup games at Swindon, Stroud, Wellington and Bristol.
I am also looking forward to the second workshop with National Handball Performance coaches at Stoke Mandeville as part of the DiSE programme.
