TS5C Sponsored Athlete
The flagship fund has already benefited over 130 young athletes from Somerset in a variety of sports. TS5C sponsored athletes have already achieved significant results at both County and National level, and have competed for Team GB in international competitions.

Aspiring handball player, 16 year old Joe Nelson from Walton has booked a seat to Denmark in August to compete in The Generation Cup as part of a 16 strong England Handball Futures Programme.

The team will fly to Viborg at the end of July to take part in a 5 day International tournament gaining their first England cap and valuable experience against some talented youngsters from around the globe.

Joe is very thankful to TS5C who have awarded him a starter grant to assist with next seasons training and travel expenses. He has just completed his GCSEs and will be combining his pre season training with a part time job at 1610 Leisure Centre in Glastonbury, where Joe has just qualified as a Level 1 handball coach and referee looking to promote handball at primary school level.

September sees the start of Joe's first season playing at U19 level and for a men's team which will see him travelling around the country for tournaments and elite training camps.
