The season has now well and truly ended and it is back to training and school life ready for 2020. This year has seen me leave Crispin School and move to Millfield to continue my education and training under a sports scholarship.
I competed in the last few rounds of the British Super Series finishing up at Mallory Park where I competed as an individual and as part of the regional relay squad. This year has been full of highs and lows which has brought with it a lot of learning and understanding how to adapt when things do not go to plan.
I finished the year with a sprint distance triathlon at Thorp Park, it was a pretty chilly day and an early start. The swim leg was open water and I set the fastest female swim time and in the top 3 swim times of all entrants on the day. I lost a couple of places on the bike as I am currently running restricted gearing in line with British Triathlon regulations for Super Series Races, something which will not be an issue next year as I am free to run whatever gears I like.
I finished the race 3rd which I was pleased with as this was only my second race of this distance (800m Swim / 20km bike & 5km run), but it was good practice for next year as this is the distances I will be doing.
In mid November I also competed in the British Biathlon finals in Nottingham achieving a top 10 position and a Team Gold in the U17 Category
Overall the year has been good and I am looking forward to next season, the high of the year has definitely been qualifying for the British Age Group Team to go to Edmonton Canada next year.
