TS5C Sponsored Athlete
The flagship fund has already benefited over 130 young athletes from Somerset in a variety of sports. TS5C sponsored athletes have already achieved significant results at both County and National level, and have competed for Team GB in international competitions.

Jessica had a successful time with Atlantis u18 at the Las Vegas Invitational 7s over 1st/2nd March. After winning their pool and being ceded second on points difference, Atlantis won the their quarterfinal and semifinal to face British Colombia Rugby in the final.

TS5C sponsored Jess Cooksey has been invited to play Rugby 7s in Las Vegas from 27th Feb - 2nd March ahead of the HSBC International 7s weekend.

She is one of two girls selected from Hartpury College and will be playing with Atlantis Rugby, the invitational rugby team from the US that specialises in Rugby Sevens.

Having completed a successful season with Winscombe U18 Girls, culminating in winning the National Championship, Jess has started the new year with some great news from the RFU. She has been selected as one of the 35 girls in the U18 Talent Development Group.

Jessica and the Winscombe u18 girls have made it to the National club finals, to be played on 30th April in Cirencester. Having been runners up with the u15 last year, she is hoping to go one better this year!

This year marks a significant step up in TS5C sponsored Jessica's rugby career as, at just 15 years of age, she moves into the u18 age group.

So far this season Jess has secured her place in the Somerset u18 team and has played in the first match against Gloucestershire which Somerset won 59-17. A great team performance by all the girls who played the match at Frome RFC, with Jess contributing one of the tries. Two more county games between now and Christmas will see the Somerset girls take on Dorset and Wiltshire on November 20th and Devon on December 4th.

Jessica holding the two RFU trophies won so far this year!!

One is the South West Counties winners trophy where she captained Somerset U15 to triumph over the other South West counties (Devon, Cornwall, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Dorset & Wilts.)

The second trophy was won by Winscombe U15 and is the South West Club championship (Jess is captain). They now move into the National Club Championship semi final, to be played on April 10th.
