TS5C Sponsored Athlete
The flagship fund has already benefited over 130 young athletes from Somerset in a variety of sports. TS5C sponsored athletes have already achieved significant results at both County and National level, and have competed for Team GB in international competitions.

TS5C sponsored, Rio 2016 Olympian Cameron Kurle of Bath National Centre showed some great form to win the Men’s 200m Freestyle on day two of the Swim England National Winter Championships 2017.

He was the fourth fastest qualifier going into the final, but almost a fifth of a second faster then the rest of the field at the end of the race.

Kurle touched in 1:48.86, narrowly outside the consideration time for the Gold Coast but putting him in the frame for potential relay selection.

Commenting on his performance, Kurle said: “My coach said ‘get out there and give it your best shot’ so no pressure.

“I just went out and had some fun. I’m happy with the time as it’s only December. The season only started a couple of months back so to go 1:48 in December I’m really pleased.”
