TS5C Sponsored Athlete
The flagship fund has already benefited over 130 young athletes from Somerset in a variety of sports. TS5C sponsored athletes have already achieved significant results at both County and National level, and have competed for Team GB in international competitions.

Bettine Harris and her sailing partner Megan Ferguson have continued to work on their partnership in the 420 dinghy and have been training hard in the British Youth Squad and competing around the country through the Winter months.

This culminated in them being top ranked ladies in the Winter SailJuice series and coming 4th overall. The SailJuice Winter Series is based around the UK's biggest winter handicap events. Sailors from many different dinghy fleets consider this series as one of the main goals of winter racing. It attracts some of the best sailors in the country to compete against each other, Megan and Bettine’s results were a great achievement.

This was good preparation for the three 420 selection events which were held at Rutland and Weymouth including the RYA Youth Nationals. Bettine and Megan sailed consistently finishing as 2nd youth girls winning selection to the GBR Team which will be travelling to the 420 World Championships in Vilamoura, Portugal in June and the 420 European championships in Galicia, Spain in July.

As well as sailing the 420 dinghy Bettine is crewing for her brother Jamie in the RS200. They currently hold the Junior National and Inland titles and they will be competing at the RS200 Nationals in Torquay in August.
