I hope you are very well and enjoying life. I just wanted to give you an update on what has happened this year and what i hope to achieve next year.
This year has been a difficult one for me with moving to bath and getting settled in. Its been my first time away from home and it has been tricky to get use to but i am enjoying it a lot.
This year has also been a scare as i was rushed in a air ambulance to hospital as i was found in my bedroom on the floor with no response. I was in hospital for around 2 weeks and had a lot of scans and x rays to find out the problem but nothing ever came of it. In the end they didn’t say what had caused it.
This led me onto getting back into the water in the New Year in the attempt to qualify for the world championships in which the trials were in April. So the turn around was short. I managed to get myself into reasonable shape for the trials and made the final in the 200m freestyle where i came 7th. I was disappointed with this. But considering what had happened i could understand.
My next competition would be nationals in Sheffield where i swam well and pb’d in the 100 free to come 4th and then came 2nd in the 200m freestyle. Both open age group.
My focus now turns to December where i will attempt to qualify for the commonwealth games which are to be held in Australia. I am looking forward to putting in the hard work from now till then and can’t wait to see what i can produce.
